National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will transform the way people with a disability access disability care and supports, and revolutionise the way disability supports are funded and delivered. The NDIS will progressively rollout across Queensland over three years from 1 July 2016 to June 2019. The phasing and timing of when each area will transition to the NDIS is currently being negotiated by the Queensland and Commonwealth Governments.

The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (DCCSDS) is leading the whole-of-government implementation of the NDIS in Queensland. The Strategic Policy Unit, Strategy, Policy and Planning Division, is leading Queensland Health's implementation of the NDIS in Queensland.
