Lynn retires after 37 years

Biloela Hospital hosted a retirement morning tea last week (4 August) for Community Health Child Health Nurse/Child Protection Liaison Officer Lynn Van Itallie. Lynn started her nursing training in 1973 at Rockhampton Hospital. In 1982 Lynn moved to Biloela and took the position of Child Health Nurse.

Keeping Biloela children healthy

Biloela Community Health will soon provide free childhood immunisations with child health checks. Clinical Nurse Child Health Letitia Graving said parents could once again coordinate their child’s vaccinations and developmental health checks in follow-on appointments.

Biloela patients get access to general physician

Biloela patients now have access to a general physician, with fortnightly clinics held by specialists visiting from Gladstone Hospital. Dr Waranga Jayawickrama held the first clinic last week (Friday, 1 July), and was happy to be providing the service to Biloela people to save them travelling out of town.

Gladstone specialists support Banana clinicians

Gladstone Hospital specialists hit the road to Biloela last week to promote the health service network and share information with local clinicians. Surgeons Dr Emilia Dauway, Dr Stefaan De Clercq and Dr Mohamed Al-Askari and Paediatrician Dr Lloyd Bwanaisa joined Nurse Manager - Projects Amy Corbet and GP Liaison Officer Hannah Nugent for the information evening.
